We are dispersed camping. We are not interested in exposing vulnerable people to disease. The COVID situation is continually evolving and we continue to adapt. While everyone's interpretation varies on how to handle our current status we remain staunchly nonpartisan and dedicated solely to accommodating all people and communities that we inhabit.

Gambler started as small group, that is how we proceed for 2020 as throwback to the 2014 OG. Take this opportunity to explore on your own or participate in a distanced way in N Klamath County or beyond. The UNPVD.com app with be available for trial on iOS mid-June connecting people and creating or sharing waypoint sets all over the world. We will have standalone waypoint sets and tracks available over social media for free. Android will be available the following year as funds allow. (updates and links soon)

Gambler 500 as a whole embraces all Federal, State and County mandates regarding social distancing and further hope that people simply adopt safe and smart social behaviors in that we can retain the best parts of the Gambler 500 in these trying times. While people may not all agree, all participants must recognize other's concerns and rights to personal space and exposure. It is only by adopting this cautious approach can we move forward as a modified version of past events.

This means dispersed camping in groups mandated by state or less (currently 25) we will have resources available for primitive sites, campgrounds, hotels, RV parks etc in the Klamath County area. Anyone registered for camp will get a registration packet with the 2020 sticker, Gambler branded dust full mask neck gaiter/buff, JB Weld, O'Reilly, Rugged Radio, Heatwave and Gambler swag/sticker packs or a refund if requested. We will have centralized area to disperse packs as well as free spray paint/stencil area. HooptieX is still on in a socially distanced manner, RC racing and minibike trail ride and enduros during the weekend as well. All details to be emailed in the coming weeks.

We recommend the wearing of facemasks in all public areas, again there is no negative impact in being cautious as your actions effect us all even if just by putting your fellow human at ease. Wearing a mask alone in your car is kinda extreme though I will say, but that's all you.

Thank you for being patient, thank you for accepting our cautious approach as it is the only way that we have ever survived as a culture, put others first. We want the opportunity to proceed with the world's largest trail cleanup, outdoor adventure and the path is only laid with altruism and empathy for other's.

This is all of course subject to change within the coming weeks/month.

2. There is no $500 rule, cheaper cars win Scepter so no way to cheat with $$$

3. We are the world's largest and competitive trail cleanup, bring trash bags.

4. You are responsible for your actions, same legal standards apply as any other day.

5. Don't be a dick.

Remember the goal is to reach any of the destinations using as little pavement as possible "pavement is lava" drive safe as you be sharing and interacting with thousands of other gambler cars. The best challenge is navigating stock 2WD cars ovekroads that trucks and SUVs wouldn't have a problem with but you'll find plenty of challenges for built rigs along the way. The route options will be emailed to your registered email address, posted to website and on social media June 15th. There will be multiple options to accommodate the amount of people, avoid congestion, clean up public lands and promote rad adventures.

1. Best way to Gamble: start where you are and navigate to Gilchrist, OR using as little pavement as possible, with 5,000 participants you will run into groups along the way.

5. The USFS will be providing areas that need special attention closer to the event.

For stickers and swag prior to event visit gambler500.com/shop/ the new colors will be available soon. You are encouraged to be self sufficient, bring your own food and drinks but there will be many more restrooms and food vendors this year.

Please visit walkerrange.org for fire prevention tips but you are required by law to carry a fire extinguisher on public land.

As always we are stewards of the envirnoment and the communities we pass through. We have huge dumpsters onsite as we host the largest trail cleanup in the world during the event, please snap a pic of the debris you collect along your journey and post pics to Instagram tagging @thegambler500 and @sonsofsmokey along with hashtag #sonsofsmokey and we will be selecting winners for most debris, biggest debris, shooting pit cleanup and more. Please include a fire extinguisher, first aid, food, water, tools plus all essentials for overland travel.

The Competition:

1. The Scepter: This award has been handed down year after year to the team that most embodies the Gambler spirit. The cheapest car, the coolest people, helpful on trail etc.

2. Stewardship: Every gambler picks up litter and trail trash along the way, if we’re going to have fun we’re gonna help. Snap a pic and tag us on Instagram @thegambler500 @sonsofsmokey #sonsofsmokey and we’ll be selecting 5 teams to receive awards from our sponsors.

3. Record your route on smartphone or GPS snapshot and tag us, we will be selecting the 5 best route paths to receive prizes from Heatwave Visual, KC HiLiTes and more on Saturday night.

5. The Gambler Car Show by TRAXXAS RC is back again for 2020 we will be selecting a winner for each category Craziest Build, Most RC Car like and Best Overland/SIRCH&RASCUE rig will all receive a TRAXXAS RC car.

Agreement of Release and Indemnity

This Agreement of Release and Indemnity (this "Agreement") contains a release of liability and waiver which affects your legal rights.

By registering to participate, or participating, in the Gambler 500 Rally (the “Event”) you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions, including without limitation, the release of liability and waiver of claims provided below. If you do not agree to all of the following terms and conditions, do not register to participate, or participate, in the Event. If you do not understand all of the following terms and conditions please seek the advice of appropriate persons prior to registering to participate, or participating, in the Event. All participants must read and accept even if purchased by an another.

By indicating your acceptance, you understand, agree, warrant and covenant as follows:
You acknowledge and agree that the Event, like any other road rally, events, competitions, or activities, regardless of distance, intensity, or conditions, involve potential hazards to persons and property, that injuries are common, and that your participation in the Event could result in temporary or permanent injury, including serious injury, disability, paralysis or death. You accept and assume the risks associated with your participation in or attendance at the Event, including, but not limited to, weather conditions and changes in weather conditions, surface conditions and variations in surface conditions, terrain features, collisions or contact with natural or man-made objects or other persons (including spectators, Event officials and representatives, and other participants), no or delayed first aid or emergency assistance, illness or pre-existing medical condition, crashing, inability to complete the Event, the negligence of persons at or involved in or with the Event, and the negligence or intentional misconduct of other participants and spectators of the Event. You further acknowledge that there may be other risks associated with your participation in or attendance at the Event which may not be listed above. YOU FREELY AND EXPRESSLY ACCEPT AND ASSUME ANY AND ALL RISKS, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, THE RISKS OF INJURY, DEATH, AND PROPERTY DAMAGE ASSOCIATED WITH THE EVENT.
You acknowledge and state that you do not need to participate in the Event, and that you have unlimited opportunity to engage in car rally activities similar to the Event. You acknowledge and state that you are medically able and appropriately trained to participate in the Event. You agree to abide by the decision of any Event official or representative regarding your ability to participate in the Event, and that Event officials or representatives may authorize emergency treatment for you in the event of injury or perceived harm. You agree to abide by any and rules, regulations, directions. signage, warnings, and/or orders at the Event or of the Event officials or representatives, and further, that, among other things, your right to participate in the Event may be revoked at any time upon your failure to do so. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE EVENT DOES NOT REQUIRE SPEEDING. AND AGREES TO ABIDE BY ALL POSTED SPEED LIMITS AND OTHER APPLICABLE LAWS, HAVING BEEN SPECIFICALLY INSTRUCTED TO DO SO BY THE EVENT HOLDERS.
You further irrevocably, and without additional consideration, grants to Gambler 500, LLC, the transferable right to use your image or likeness (“Image”) in any educational, promotional, advertising, or other purpose. You agree that all intellectual property rights in your Image captured at or during the Event belong to Gambler 500, LLC, and you waive any right to approve, inspect and/or receive royalties or other benefits from the use of such Image by Gambler 500, LLC.
In consideration for entry into and the right to participate in any way in the Event, you, on behalf of yourself and on behalf of your heirs, executors, administrators, successors, and assigns, irrevocably and unconditionally release, acquit, forever discharge, hold harmless, and indemnify Gambler 500, LLC and each of their respective, present and future, members, shareholders, directors, officers, employees, affiliates, contractors, volunteers, car owners, drivers, rescue personnel, advertisers, organizers, sponsors, promoters, agents, owners and lessees of the premises used to conduct the Event, and other authorized representatives, any Event officials or representatives, and any other persons or entities assisting with or in any way connected with the Event, together with their successors and assigns (collectively, the "Event Holders") for, from, and against any and all claims by me or on my behalf regarding the inherent risks associated with the Event, the negligence or intentional misconduct of other participants in the Event or spectators of the Event, as well as the ordinary negligence of the Event Holders, or any of them, arising out of or in any way connected with the Event and/or the use of any facilities, premises, or equipment at or in connection with the Event.
You acknowledge and state that you have carefully read and understand this Agreement and all of its terms, understand that this Agreement contains a release of liability and waiver of claims, and that you enter into this Agreement voluntarily and on a fully informed basis understanding that it is binding upon you, and your heirs, representatives, successors, and assigns.
You state that you are at least 21 years of age and accept all the terms and conditions of this Agreement on your behalf including without limitation the release of liability and waiver of claims contained in this Agreement.
